About

Serious AI has to survive engineering reality.

I work across consulting, engineering, teaching, and research. The common thread is simple: make the system work when constraints show up.

In brief

I am a technical AI consultant, engineering lead, lecturer, and researcher based in Beirut. Most of my work starts when teams need a straight answer: what is worth building, where it will break, how to evaluate it, and what plan is actually defensible.

My academic training includes a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and a Master’s in Software Engineering.

What I am known for

  • Designing AI systems that can handle operational and organizational constraints
  • Turning vague AI ambition into architecture, evaluation, and delivery plans
  • Bringing research discipline into production decisions
  • Teaching advanced AI topics without sanding off the hard parts

Current roles

  • AI Engineering Lead at EDT&Partners
  • Lecturer at the American University of Beirut
  • Expert Contributor at O’Reilly
  • Expert Contributor at Packt
  • Independent technical AI consultant

Selected proof

  • Advised on more than 10 AI technical due diligence projects for investors and operators
  • Led AI initiatives in collaboration with AWS across consulting, delivery, and education programs
  • Previously co-founded and led AI at Assentify, including an eKYC platform serving about 20,000 daily requests across 10 countries
  • Designed and taught AI programs across universities, workshops, O’Reilly, Packt, Educative, and community initiatives

Research and teaching interests

My recent interests include agentic systems, graph-based AI, LLM evaluation, reasoning workflows, efficient inference, and AI for education and health. I care about the gap between what looks convincing in a demo and what still works once data, users, latency, cost, and failure modes enter the room.
